It is our great pleasure to remind you the International Work-Conference on Time Series (ITISE 2015), which will take place in Granada (Spain) in July, 2015. Details and instructions for the conference can be found at the conference web site (itise.ugr.es). The ITISE 2015 (International work-conference on Time Series) seeks to provide a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, forecaster, econometric, etc, in the field of time series analysis and forecasting.

We encourage you to submit paper focused on interesting, relevant and original works that are related to these subjects. We also admit the submission of short abstracts, which must be extended to full paper in case of being accepted. You could also be interested in organizing a special session for this conference. These are some important and final dates for the submission.

Submission of Special Session proposals: January 15th, 2015.

Submission of abstracts by authors: January 15th, 2015.

Submission of papers by authors: February 8th, 2015.

Notification of provisional acceptance: April 28th, 2015.

Submission of final papers: May 10th, 2015.

Registration of final papers: May 18th, 2015.

Paper publication:

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under both ISBN and ISSN references. Contributions will be indexed in the ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (Thomson Reuters) and the DBLP database.

Special issues:

A list of papers with very high quality will be selected to be extended and submitted in different special issues. At the moment, we have contact with 3 journals indexed in JCR. More information in the web page of the conference (itise.ugr.es).

The Master of Science in Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics (“STREEM”) is a one-year master’s programme offered at the Department of Spatial Economics, VU University Amsterdam, which is one of the main players world-wide in these three fields of specialization. This master will be of interest to students with a background not only in economics, but also in geography, transport science and related disciplines. The programme starts in September each year and is completely taught in English. More detailed information is provided at the website.

We would very much appreciate if you could bring this Master under the attention of students who may be interested. We would also like to mention the possibilities for scholarships. Our Faculty of Economics and Business Administration recently established its own Piet Rietveld Scholarship. Also the VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers talented prospective students opportunities for a grant. In addition, there are scholarship opportunities outside VU University.

The application deadline for the next academic year is 1 April, 2015 (and 1 March, 2015, if applying for a scholarship). The admission and application procedure can be found here .

In addition to the master’s programme STREEM, we offer a summer school (3 ects) on Metropolitan Economics from 6-17 July, 2015. This might be of interest to the same group of students. It addresses economic mechanisms behind urbanization, urban policy challenges, as well as policy instruments to address these. More information can be found on the website.

The Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) in collaboration with Udayana University invites scholars, practitioners and graduate students to submit papers to be presented in the 5th IRSA International Institute. The theme of the conference is Tourism And Sustainable Development, and it will be held in Denpasar, Bali, on 3-4 August 2015

Potential topics to be discussed in this conference include, but are not limited to:

Extended paper abstract of about 250-500 words should be submitted online

via http://bali2015.irsa-indonesia.org/abstract-submission.php. Abstract should consist of background, data and methodology, potential contribution to knowledge, and keywords. Abstract should be in English, as also the full paper.

Paper sessions are seminar-style with a discussant for each paper and ample time for discussion and for participants to provide constructive feedback to authors. Paper presentations will be in English.

The conference will be attended by prominent scholars and experienced practitioners. Our Minister of Tourism, Dr. Arief Yahya, will give the opening speech.

We are compiling a Special Issue of European Planning Studies on the topic of “Culture and innovation in SMEs and Micro Firms”. The goal of this issue will be to present state-of-the art articles including theoretical approaches, empirical research and case studies related to the role of cultural elements (values, rules, norms and cognitive frameworks) in the innovation dynamics of small firms and micro firms.  

We would like to invite you to submit an article to this issue, and we are particularly interested in your work on the innovation dynamics of SMEs.  

All the articles submitted to this special issue will be reviewed by the guest editors, and two external referees. Submission to the Special Issue does not automatically guarantee acceptance, all articles will be reviewed in respect to the standards, aims and scope of this Special Issue and the Journal. Copies of the reviewers’ comments will be sent to you in a decision letter, along with any requests they may make for revisions.

Publication of the issue is planned for March 2016, and we need to receive your manuscript for review by 30 June 2015. If revisions are required, the final, accepted version of the article must be received by us by 30 November 2015. Please, let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in submitting to this issue.

Please, see the “Instructions for Authors” tab on the journal’s website (www.tandfonline/ceps) for details on how the manuscript should be presented.
