GISCIENCE CONFERENCE BACK IN EUROPE!

Zurich, Switzerland, September 14-17, 2010

Zurich, Switzerland will be the host city of the sixth GIScience, continuing a highly successful series of conferences that commenced in 2000, and which regularly attracts over 200 international researchers.

GIScience 2010 aims to bring together scientists from academia, industry, and government to discuss the state-of-the-art in geographic information science, and explore emerging research directions. The conference focuses on basic research findings across all sectors of the field, and pure application papers are discouraged. The conference has two (refereed) submission tracks: full papers and extended abstracts. Pre-conference workshops and tutorials (Sep. 14) and the main conference (Sep. 15-17) will take place at the University of Zurich-Irchel campus, featuring state-of-the-art conference facilities within a park-like setting.

The conference site is located only 20 minutes from both downtown and Zurich Airport, and is easily accessible through public transport.

The Second Circular, including the call for papers and more detail on the conference structure, accommodation, and registration will be sent out by the end of August, 2009. Note also the conference website, which will be updated on a regular basis:
