NECTAR conference & 13th Aalto University Summer School

Dear NECTAR friends, 

The deadline for abstract submission to the NECTAR conference in Helsinki, June 5-7 2019, will be extended until January 31, 2019. Moreover, I would like to let you know that 13th Aalto University Summer School on Transportation – Mobility Systems for Open and Happy Cities is open for submissions. The Summer School is organised before the conference (May 29 – June 4, 2019) at Otaniemi campus of Aalto University, Helsinki. The theme of the Summer School is Mobility Systems for Open and Happy Cities, in synergy with the 15th NECTAR conference theme, and underlying Nordic values of transparency and citizen well-being. The activities will include lectures, site visit and envisioning workshops, all focused on various aspects of planning and policy, including technological trends and variety of quantitative and qualitative methods. The lecturers will include NECTAR cluster chairs and other renowned experts. The summer school will involve a close collaboration with planners from the City of Helsinki. Graduate students (MSc and PhD) are eligible for 3 ECTS from the Summer School. 

Registration is due May 15. Spaces are limited and assigned in order of application. Graduate students and post-docs who are NECTAR members can get a scholarship covering their fee. In the online registration form, under Additional information field, the applicant needs to write “NECTAR Member” to be considered for scholarship. In the application you also need to by provide your CV.
