RSAmericas & SOCHER meeting: This conference will be held on 26-28 September in Arica, hosted by the Business and Economics School of Universidad of Tarapacá in Chile. Arica is the northernmost city in Chile located only 18 km (11 mi) south to the border with Peru.

Patricio Aroca, President of RSAmericas, Marcelo Lufin Varas President of SOCHER and Emilio Rodriguez Ponce, Rector of Universidad of Tarapaca, would like to welcome you to the joint conference which includes both the 3rd Regional Science Association of the Americas (RSAMERICAS) and the 5th SOCHER annual conference.

This conference will be held on 26-28 September in Arica, hosted by the Business and Economics School of Universidad of Tarapacá in Chile. Arica is the northernmost city in Chile located only 18 km (11 mi) south to the border with Peru. Arica has different attractions for those who enjoy the sun and excellent weather conditions. The Pacific Ocean is one of its natural boundaries, and its shores are ideal for swimming and practicing water sports. Arica also offers all sorts of outdoor activities apart from water related ones, and an important historic and cultural patrimony. Some of the attractions you can enjoy visiting are the Lauca National Park (near the Bolivia border), the Chinchorro mummies, the Lluta Valley geoglyphs and the Morro of Arica (a historic place from the Pacific War).

From the US, the most convenient way to come to Arica is by flying to Lima, then from Lima to Tacna by Peruvian Airlines or Lan Peru and then from Tacna To Arica by taxi or bus.

If you arrive in Tacna in the first morning flights, we offer to pick you up in Tacna so that we can take you on a guided tour of the city before coming to Chile. We would be delighted in accompanying you to cross the border, too.
