      Aalto University invites applications for tenure-track positions at all levels (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) in the field of Urban Economics. 

      Applicants should have completed their PhD in Economics or a related field. Applicants for appointment at the Assistant Professor level should have postdoctoral experience indicating independence and productivity, and the potential to publish in top journals. Applicants at tenured levels should have an excellent academic record commensurate with the position. Duties include the development and teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in urban economics. 

      The application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, two recent publications, at least three letters of reference, a research statement, and information on teaching experience. Applications should be submitted online through the department’s job posting at econjobmarket.org. 

      Review of completed applications will begin on December 1, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled. Starting date is August 1, 2018 or as negotiated. 

      The Department of Economics at Aalto University is located within HECER (Helsinki Center of Economic Research), which contains also the Economics departments of the University of Helsinki and the Hanken School of Economics. Masters and PhD level Economics programs as well as research seminars are organized jointly within HECER, which is co-located with the VATT Institute for Economic Research in the center of Helsinki, one of Europe's most vibrant capitals.
