Day 1: Early flight from Istanbul to Izmir, where you visit the Ephesus to see the extensive ruins including baths, gymnasium, theatres and other monuments which line the marble streets. Also visit the reputed last home of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of St. John and the Seljuk Museum. Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in Izmir, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.
Day 2: Full-day tour to visit the Roman Agora, the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum and Kadifekale (Mt Pagus). Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in Izmir, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.
Day 3: After breakfast, early departure from hotel, flight from İzmir to Istanbul.

POST CONGRESS TOUR 1: CAPPADOCIA
April 29-May 1, 2016
Some three million years ago, violent volcanic eruptions covered the plateau in this area with tufa, a soft stone comprised of lava, ash and mud. Subsequently, the wind and rain have eroded the brittle rock to form a spectacular surrealistic landscape of rock cones and capped pinnacles, called FAIRY CHIMNEYS that are painted in colors ranging from warm reds and gold to cool greens and grays. During Byzantine times, Christian chapels and monasteries were hollowed out of the rock, and later these dwellings served as refuge for Christians, persecuted by the Romans.
Day 1: Early departure from Istanbul, flight to Kayseri-
Nevşehir and continue to Cappadocia region. Visit the underground, eleven-storied city of Kaymakli, see the extraordinary rock formations at Uçhisar and the charming town of Ürgüp with its fairy chimneys. Lunch will be provided in the area, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.
Day 2: Visit the rock dwellings, chapels and monasteries of the Göreme Valley, Zelve Valley, villages of Çavusin and Avcilar. Lunch will be provided in the area, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.
Day 3: Early departure from the hotel and ride to Kayseri-Nevşehir to fly back to Istanbul.

POST CONGRESS TOUR 2: PRINCESS ISLANDS: ISLANDS of ISTANBUL (1,5 Days)
April 29-30, 2016
During the spring and summer months the Princes’ Islands are popular destinations for day trips from Istanbul. As there is no traffic on the Islands, the only transport being horse and cart, they are incredibly peaceful compared with the city of Istanbul. They are just a short ferry ride from Istanbul.
During the Byzantine period, princes and other royalty were exiled on the islands, and later members of the Ottoman sultans family were exiled there too, giving the islands their present name. They were taken by the Ottoman fleet during the siege of Constantinople in 1453. During the nineteenth century, the islands became a popular resort for Istanbul's wealthy, and Victorian-era cottages and houses are still preserved on the largest of the Princes' Islands.
Day 1: Early departure from Istanbul, ferry to Princess Islands from Kabatas Harbour. First stop is the “Heybeliada” (Suddleberg Island) which called Halki in the past. Visit Monastery of Hagia Triada (Halki Seminary) and Hagios Nikolos Church. After the lunch, enjoy walking or cycling routes of islands to see pine covered hillsides and lovely old wooden summer houses. Transfer to Buyukada by ferry (Big Island). Dinner will be provided in a local restaurant.
Day 2: After the breakfast in the hotel, see the largest of the Princes Islands. Take a phaeton ride around the island and visit the Hagios Georgios Church which is located at the top of Yucetepe. After lunch in a local restaurant, departure from Island to Istanbul in the afternoon.
Note: Since tour includes 2 island stops, please consider to not carry heavy items. Light bags and backpacks suggested.

Cancellation Policy for Pre / Post-Congress Tours
Cancellation can be made up to 4 weeks prior to the tour for a full refund. Thereafter no refund can be provided. TOPKON CONGRESS SERVICES reserves the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of 10 participants has not been reached. Such cancellations are fully refunded.
