Job Announcement: Michigan State University

As part of the Social Science Data Analytics initiative in the College of Social Science at Michigan State University, we are seeking to hire a full-time research associate to work within the Landscape Ecology & Ecosystem Science (LEES) Lab and to be a part of the Social Science Data Analytics initiative. The initial appointment will be for one year, with an option for reappointment on a year-to-year basis for up to three years, based on performance. 

We seek applicants that use data science tools to answer social science-relevant questions. We are particularly interested in candidates that can strengthen the University's research in Bayesian data analysis, machine learning approaches to prediction, text as data, and the analysis and visualization of complex multi-scale data. The successful candidate will be expected to work under the direction of the LEES Lab and actively contribute to the Social Science Data Analytics initiative at MSU. 

The successful candidate will join other research associates and faculty as members of the Social Science Data Analytics initiative. There is no teaching obligation for this position, but the successful candidate is welcome to contribute to the growing curricular and training options on Social Science Data Analytics at MSU.
