TRAVEL ADVISORY
PASSPORT. For foreign nationals, your passport should have at least 6 months’ validity at the time of arrival in India.
VISA. Foreign nationals wishing to travel to India are required to possess a valid Indian visa. You can obtain the e-Tourist Visa for tourism, recreation, sight-seeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit. You can apply for the e-Visa onlineIndia at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. The entire process is electronic and will not require you to send your passport to the Indian embassy. Approval for the e- Visa (authority to enter India) will be sent through email.
For furter information regarding how to obtain a Indian conference visa, please contact lndian Embassy in your area or the closest office of VSF.Global. You also need to submit the below information as soon as possible, so that we can provide you a clearance letter from the Indian Minister of External Affairs.

ARRIVAL AT GOA AIRPORT.Most hotels provideairport pick up with advanced bookings. If you have arranged a hotel pick up prior to your travel, you can exit the airport and find your hotel representative. Otherwise, go to the pre-paid taxi counter located just outside the exit doors.
Taxi: Taxis can be booked at a counter in the arrivals area of the terminals. The journey time to Vasco city center is approximately 30 minutes depending on the traffic).
TRANSIT AT MUMBAI AIRPORT. Most international airlines will arrive at Mumbai airport Terminal 2. There is usually a long queue at immigration (for e-Visa, the desks are at the far right of the arrival hall) and it is hence recommended that you have more than 3 hours between your arrival time at Mumbai airport and your domestic flight from Mumbai to Goa.
If your domestic flight to Goa is using Air India, Jet Airways and Vistara, there is a luggage check-in service that is located after the quarantine check point to your right. Here you will be able to transfer your luggage to your domestic flight. Departure gates are in the second floor of Terminal 2. For other domestic airlines you will need to go to Terminal 1 to check-in.
VENUE. Our conference venue will be at the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) - K K Birla Goa Campus, NH-17B, Zuarinagar – 403 726, Goa, India (http://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/Goa/). A security check is conducted when you enter the campus. Please bring your ID or Passport. There is ample security in the main buildings
The B Dome, A and C Blocks where the Congress will be held. The venue is wifi enabled. All rooms have air conditioning and projection facilities.
ELECTRICITY ADVICE. Note that the official power voltage in Goa is 50Hz – 220v. Outlets in Goa generally accept the type D and type C plug. Please bring your universal adapter to charge your electronic items in Goa.
CLIMATE AND DRESS CODE. The dress code for the workshop is smart casual. The seminar rooms will be air-conditioned. Outside, it is usually sunny and hot during the day with a temperature of about 33oC. End of May-early June is the end of the summer As monsoon is round the corner, there is slight possibility of rain during day and/or night, but in short spells. Carrying rainwear/umbrellas is advised.
MEALS. You will be covered for the lunch and tea breaks (2 times) during the conference. You are welcome to attend the conference dinner after the Opening Session and the conference Gala Dinner. Free Transport will be provided for dropping delegates to their hotels (same routes as conference pick-up/ drop) after dinner.

Goa can be reached via its sole airport (Dabolim), by train, and by the many buses connecting the state with cities in India (primarily Mumbai, Mangalore and Bangalore). If you are travelling from Mumbai or Pune, car travel will provide you a journey through breath-taking scenery of the Konkan area.
By Air
The Dabolim Airport in Vasco da Gama lies just 29 kilometres from the state’s capital, Panjim. Goa is well connected by daily flights from Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Cochin and Bangalore. Several international airlines fly directly to Goa. Among others are:

On arrival, take pre-paid taxis from Dabolim Airport. A yellow pre-paid taxi booth can be found 30 metres on the left when you exit the main building. There is also a pre-paid taxi stand in the international arrival area.
Official Govt Rate Taxi Board. Those who want to make the trip to their hotel before the supplied coach may like to go by taxi, just outside arrivals there is a taxi board showing rates for all the popular destinations. Another option is to find a taxi just outside the airport gates who might be on their way home and save yourself a few hundred rupees.
Many resorts pick up guests from the airport for free, so make sure you ask your resort for free pick-up.
By Bus
There are a number of public as well as private bus operators in Goa, which offer options for intra-city and inter-city conveyance. KSRTC, MSRTC and KTC are some of the Government undertakings that operate from Panaji, Madgaon and Vasco Da Gama. Private bus operators include the likes of Neeta Tour and Travels, Paulo Travels and Naik Tours and Travels. Goa enjoys daily bus service from important cities like Mumbai and Pune.
By Train
Indian Railways connects Goa with direct train services from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Kochi, Kolkata, Thiruvanantapuram, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
The destination station is usually Madgaon in South Goa, one can also choose to get down at Thivim in North Goa. Travelling to Goa by train is a real pleasure as the route passes through greenery and many tunnels. Goa is also connected to Pune via the Belgaum Miraj line.

Much of Goa is well-connected with roads that are in a good state of repair, and it is not hard to get good rates for taxis and rented cars as well. One can either book a taxi in advance from tour operators/taxi rentals or hire cabs on a direct payment basis from the airport or railway station.
Self-Drive
Hiring cars and motorcycles on self-drive basis is a popular transport option in Goa. This is one of the best and most economical ways to tour the beach capital on your own. Just grab a two-wheeler or four-wheeler by submitting an ID proof and set off on the ultimate trip around Goa!
Emergency services
Goa now has a number - 108 for medical emergencies. This service is run by the GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) and is based out of Goa Medical College (Bambolim) and has ambulances posted at various parts of Goa. These ambulances are fully equipped and have trained paramedics.
