15th EU-REAL Workshop 2018

Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Culture and Society and the Department of Business Economics and Statistics at the University of Palermo, Italy, are delighted to announce the 15th European Union Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (EU REAL) Workshop,with a focus on Societal challenges and opportunities in regional development, which will be held in Palermo (Sicily) in September 3-4, 2018.

It is an immense pleasure to welcome the EU-REAL community in order to jointly discuss research ideas and topics and to enhance the cooperation among our institutions.

We invite contribution on topics related (but not limited to):

- Regional economic growth and development

- Regional, rural and urban policy

- Infrastructure, transport flows and networks among regions

- Input-Output (I-O) and Computable General Equilibrium models (CGEs)

- Tourism and regional development

- Migration and regional labor markets

- Regional healthcare planning and migration flows

- Quantitative methods for regional sciences

- Spatial concentration

- Spatial income inequalities

- Natural environment, resources and sustainable development
